Our Mission & Why We Exist
Many of the patients we care for have been living with neuropathic pain for months or years and have not found relief through medications, injections, or other traditional therapies. Chronic diabetic neuropathy can be frustrating, discouraging, and overwhelming — especially when you’ve been told to “just live with it.”
We created Diabetic Nerve Clinic to offer a different path — a more focused, specialized, and effective approach built specifically for diabetic nerve pain, guided by decades of clinical expertise and a commitment to compassionate, patient-first care.
“To help people living with diabetic peripheral neuropathy find meaningful, long-lasting relief when other treatments haven’t worked.”

Specialized neuropathy care, delivered with experience, clarity, and compassion.
The clinic was established by Dr. Lindsey Nelson and Dr. Ivan Harangozo, two experienced physician anesthesiologists who share a commitment to evidence-based, patient-first care. After studying the latest advancements in neuromodulation and nerve repair, they recognized the enormous potential this technology holds for people living with debilitating nerve pain.
Our treatment pathway is designed especially for patients who have struggled to find relief elsewhere, and the Vagal Nerve Stimulator is covered by Medicare and many major insurance plans.
Who We Are
Diabetic Nerve Clinic was created with one purpose: to bring focused, effective, and compassionate care to people living with chronic diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
Many patients with diabetic nerve pain struggle for years without meaningful relief. Traditional medications often have limited effectiveness — and their side effects make long-term use difficult. General pain clinics rarely specialize in neuropathic pain, and patients are left with fragmented options and no clear path forward.
We founded Diabetic Nerve Clinic to change that.
Our clinic is dedicated exclusively to diabetic neuropathy, using modern, non-pharmacological treatment to stimulate the body’s natural healing mechanisms and support long-term nerve health.
How We Care for Our Patients
At Diabetic Nerve Clinic, we believe patients deserve thoughtful, evidence-backed care that prioritizes safety, comfort, and long-term healing — not quick fixes or one-size-fits-all solutions.
Evidence-Based Treatment
Every clinical decision we make is grounded in neuropathic pain science, published research, and decades of experience treating complex nerve-related conditions. We take the time to understand each patient’s history and symptoms, ensuring recommendations are both appropriate and effective.
Patient-First Care
We do not rush appointments. Our team provides clear explanations, answers your questions, and helps you understand your condition and treatment options. From your first phone call to your final follow-up, you’ll be treated with respect, empathy, and attention.
Drug-Free Approach
We use a safe, minimally invasive therapy that supports the body’s natural healing processes through targeted neuromodulation. Our care is entirely non-pharmacological — we do not prescribe opioids or other pain medications — and the treatment works by activating nerve pathways involved in repair and reducing inflammation.
Provide specialized care, delivered with clarity, compassion, and a commitment to restoring quality of life.
Expert Oversight at Every Step
At Diabetic Nerve Clinic, every evaluation and treatment is overseen by a physician anesthesiologist. This ensures you receive expert clinical guidance and an accurate assessment of whether the Vagal Nerve Stimulator therapy is appropriate and safe based on your symptoms and medical history.
Expert, Physician-Led Care
Your treatment is guided by a physician anesthesiologist with over 30 years of clinical experience and a specialty in pain management. You receive thoughtful, safe, and personalized care at every step.
Focused on Diabetic Neuropathy
We are not a general pain clinic. Our entire practice is dedicated to treating chronic diabetic neuropathic pain — and we know how to help when other approaches haven’t worked.
Simple, 20 Minute Treatment
The Vagal Nerve Stimulator is applied in a quick, in-office visit with no sedation, no IV, and minimal discomfort. After placement, you can return to your daily activities while the device works for 20 days.
When you choose Diabetic Nerve Clinic, you’re choosing a level of experience, attention, and clinical precision designed to support long-term healing.

NEUROPATHY FOCUSED
Specialized Care for Diabetic Neuropathy
Diabetic Nerve Clinic focuses exclusively on treating chronic diabetic peripheral neuropathy — and nothing else.
By dedicating our entire practice to one condition, we’re able to offer a depth of expertise and a level of individualized care that general pain clinics simply can’t match.
Most patients we treat have had diabetic neuropathic pain for at least three months, and many have already tried medications or injections without improvement. The Vagal Nerve Stimulator is fully covered by Medicare, making it an accessible option for eligible patients.
I would take mustard to help control the pain as nothing else helped. Since having the device, I haven’t had to take any mustard!
I didn’t notice a big change at first but now after three weeks, I am doing so much more. Thank you so much!
I went from 15 medications a day to just 1. I am even off my Hypothyroid medications. I am not sure that is related but I am thrilled.
For the first time in years, I could get myself into my own bed.
